FUELLED BY A PASSION FOR GREAT COFFEE

Founded in 2013 by Nick Law, a self-confessed and devoted coffee nerd, Bean Shot is a popular Somerset based artisan coffee roaster, with a beloved community hub based in Sherborne, the heart of Dorset. Our team of dedicated experts scour the globe to ethically source the finest coffee beans, forging long-standing relationships with growers, producers and co-operatives.

At Bean Shot, we lovingly roast our coffee beans, ensuring each batch receives the meticulous care it deserves. We’re dedicated to delivering the perfect cup of speciality coffee to our customers, whether it's enjoyed in person at our coffee bar or delivered to your doorstep to enjoy at home.

OUR COMMUNITY

At Bean Shot, community is at the heart of everything we do. From our seasoned regulars to those popping in for the first time, everyone brings something special to our artisan coffee bar in Sherborne. It’s a place where a simple "how are you?" sparks meaningful conversations that flow as freely as the coffee. When we’re not serving Bloody Good Coffee, you’ll find us hosting intimate events like our popular ‘Vinyl Nights’. At Bean Shot, everyone is welcome.

We’re open and serving great coffee and cakes 7 days a week. Pop in for a chat, quiet hour, to work, or pick up your coffee to enjoy at home. Find us at 3 Johnson's Courtyard, South St, Sherborne, Dorset DT9 3TD.

Follow us on social media to be the first to hear about our events and to follow all the fun we have when we’re not busy roasting and serving Bloody Good Coffee.

OUR COFFEE

At Bean Shot, our specialty coffee starts with ethically sourced beans from trusted coffee farms and plantations around the World, ensuring quality and fairness at every step. Each batch is delicately roasted to bring out the unique flavours in every cup, offering a distinctive coffee experience crafted with care.

LOVINGLY ROASTED IN SOMERSET

Our coffee is lovingly roasted in Bruton. Our Roast Master, Alex, carefully heats 10kg of green beans in a rotating drum. The process involves precise temperature adjustments to bring out the best flavours. As the beans go from green to brown, they pass through a "first crack" stage, a sign of vibrant flavour development. We stop roasting before "second crack" to preserve delicate flavour notes, quickly cooling the beans to lock in taste.

THE SHERBORNE TIMES

We were invited to feature on the cover of the iconic Sherborne Times earlier this year. Our feature encompasses our story, community, passion for Bloody Good coffee and our commitment to making a positive difference through ethical sourcing and operations.

“Our customers really appreciate the ‘crop to cup’ story behind their coffee. They like that it’s ethically sourced and fairly traded and that we try to be as sustainable as possible…”
