Aeropress

Definition:

An Aeropress is a portable and versatile coffee brewing device consisting of a cylindrical chamber and a plunger. It uses air pressure to push hot water through coffee grounds, resulting in a smooth, rich, and flavorful coffee.

Basic Brew Recipe:

Ratio: 18:240

Brew time: 2 minutes.

To make your Aeropress (Inverted Method):

  1. Assemble the Aeropress in the inverted position (plunger at the bottom, chamber on top) and place it on scales, then tare.

  2. Add 18g of ground coffee and tare the scales.

  3. Boil the kettle, let it sit for 60 seconds (aim for 90-95°C).

  4. Fill the Aeropress with 240g boiled water.

  5. Stir the coffee and water mixture.

  6. Let it steep for 1 minute.

  7. Attach the filter cap with a moistened paper filter to the Aeropress.

  8. Carefully flip the Aeropress onto a cup or carafe.

  9. Slowly press down the plunger over 30 seconds.

  10. Pour everything into your cup and enjoy.

Extra tip:

Adjust the grind size and brew time to your preference. Finer grinds and longer brew times result in a stronger coffee, while coarser grinds and shorter brew times produce a milder coffee. Consistency is key to achieving great tasting coffee every time.

Adjust the recipe to your taste by altering the coffee or water amount. Once perfected, you can repeat your recipe, maintaining consistency for great tasting coffee every time.
